Adjustment for hazardous materials (EU-RoHS and CHINA-RoHS)
KOA has taken various measures to reduce using environmental hazardous materials in the products. The below is our latest actions to RoHS directives regulated by EU (hereinafter EU-RoHS) and to Chinese administration on the control of pollution caused by electronic information products (hereinafter CHINA-RoHS).
(1) EU-RoHS
None of the item on the list of EU-RoHS compliant products includes any of six hazardous materials (Lead/Cadmium/Hexavalent chromium/Mercury/PBB/PBDE) restricted by EU-RoHS from July 2006, although it shall not applied to the applications listed in RoHS exemptions.

(2) CHINA-RoHS
CHINA-RoHS took effect as of 1st March 2007. SJ/T11364-2006 standard specifies each threshold level of six
hazardous materials (lead/cadmium/hexavalent chromium/mercury/PBB/PBDE) ; Cd : max. 100ppm, other five materials : max. 1000ppm.

Even EU-RoHS compliant products sometimes contain hazardous materials in higher threshold level given in CHINA-RoHS. Pay attention for selecting component.
We use the codes of terminal surface material to identify products with Pb-free terminal and products with Pb terminal. See our typical type designations (*2).
